For this work I used Zeitgeist archives, which is a Google web site that indicates each month, for about 40 countries, the most searched words on Google web search engine.  From « Zeitgeist Around the World» I picked a random 14 countries. I then engage in a Google image search based on the words I got form the Zeitgeist lists. On one hand this work is quite objective because it is based on the search queries list provided by Google trustworthy website, but on the other hand it’s also quite subjective because I choose one image from the very large amount of hits that appeared on my screen just after having typed one word... (even-though I have kept constant standards, for instant the image had to be in high resolution and landscape orientation, in order to get the postcard impression but the image’s origin did not matter to me (commercial, amateurish...) I just choose the more appealing.

So the work consists of a vast internet image collection based on the most search word in 14 countries. It’s an on-going collection; I renew the experience every year in March. I turn this database of most popular search on Google per country, into postcards that symbolise or portray the countries in question.

In fact the most searched words on Google for a country reveals a lot about the preoccupation of its population at that moment in time. For example what car people wants to buy, what hobby they want to spend their free time, what insurance they have, or the food they want to cook. In opposition to the traditional postcards this one are ephemeral, they only show a monthly trend.
